It's from my native language! Hold on, I ain't great with words and I gotta turn Japanese input on

えもじ is "e-mo-ji", and when written the right way looks like this: 絵文字. 絵 is the "e" and it means like... picture. 文字 is the "moji" part and it means "character"

So... Picture character, yo!
