By now, Rey has met enough people on the Barge that the immediate wariness that had come with them smiling at her for no reason has faded. On Jakku only people who wanted to steal from you, trick you, hurt you, or any number of horrible things ever started a conversation with a smile. Here, there are people who are just genuinely nice people.

Knowing that Furiosa is so close to Tommy automatically makes her someone Rey wouldn't have any reason to doubt, and it's perhaps put them closer to friendship than they would have gotten on a first meeting basis without him in common. She'll have to thank him later.

"It's alright. It's interesting to see a place that looks so much like Jakku in another galaxy entirely." And then, suddenly realizing she isn't actually sure how that works, what planet this is, she looks back to Furiosa and raises a hand to shade her eyes from the sun. "Is this Earth?"
