[The very simple truth is that the relationship they have now has grown to be more important than the one that had started to build between her and the older version of him, the old man who had been alone for so long but who won't be, now that she'd found him.

Rey believes strongly that Luke will find his way back to Leia, that Han and Kylo Ren, who will be Ben, the way he was meant to be, will all fold him into their family. All of them will find their footing together because Rey will make sure it happens. Her deal for Han's life, her refusal to budge from this ship until Kylo Ren has finished here, it's all in the hopes of them getting that happy ending.

Everything she's working towards is for other people, and the place she had thought she'd have to fall back on is gone now. There's not a thing Luke can do about it except, thirty years from now, go home for good.]
